A Real Love Story Everyone wishes for a perfect fairytale ending in life, to meet Prince Charming and have a grand marriage, but people fail to realize is that in order to meet the â€Å"one† there must be trial and error. That process can be painful, cruel, and downright heartbreaking. To be happily wed in marriage with a significant other, people will have to date but ideally not at a young age. By developing relationships in one’s adolescent years it can be taxing on a teen instead of lighthearted. As shown in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet teenagers can have their impulses that naturally occur push them to make rash and illogical decisions, such as committing suicide. In the play Juliet who is a mere thirteen years old, and Romeo, who†¦show more content†¦Casey states, â€Å"‘In fact, teenagers almost cannot help but respond to the promise of a reward,’ Casey says, ‘It’s like they’re pulled toward it’† (Mascarelli). W hile wrapped up in the arms of each other, teens in a relationship with no communication will isolate themselves from family and friends. In the article â€Å"Young Love: The Good, the Bad, and the Educational† author Winifred Gallagher expresses her thoughts as she tells of a Romeo and Juliet-esque couple: Some saw a star-crossed couple who found understanding, joy, and maturity in each other’s arms. Others saw impulsive kids whose reckless passion cut them off from family, friends, and more appropriate interests, provoked mood swings, delinquent behavior, and experimentation with drugs, and ended in tragedy. (Gallagher) Gallagher paints a picture of a couple blind to the world yet the world can see them in full color. It is evident that teens develop unhealthy relationships where they believe they love each other when, in reality, two teenagers prematurely say ‘I love you’ to anyone as they think it’s mature to do so. In â€Å"Young Love: The Good, the Bad, and the Educational† the author provides information on teenagers, revealing, â€Å"Dr. Furman, a professor of psychology at the University of Denver, said adolescents’ lack of social skills and emotional control can make relationships difficult† (Gallagher).
